Have you picked up the challenge I laid down to start a new fabric collage this summer or finish an old one? The last two weeks in these Throwbacks I’ve shown you the beginnings of the quilt I’m currently finishing up this summer, the blue moon version of my son Sam, which I have covered in posts here and here.

If you don’t have an in-progress fabric collage to finish and are having a hard time deciding on a new collage to start, let me suggest a sun or moon portrait, which are available as patterns (Sun Portrait and Moon Portrait). As inspiration, today’s TBT post shows you a slew of student-made sun portraits with a couple of moons thrown in.

I know summer isn’t always the easiest time to start a new project, but if you decide to join me, be sure to comment in either this post or Saturday’s post. Share what you’re doing. And when you do finish a quilt be sure to send in pictures for an upcoming Finish Line blog post of student work. Thanks!
