Submitting a quilt for inclusion in a "Finish Line" post is a two-step process:

Step 1: Fill out the form below.
Please try to provide as much information as possible.
Once you have completed the form click "Submit".

Step 2: Email images of your quilt.
Please see instructions below.

1. Quilt Information Form

Please describe how you learned fabric collage to create this quilt: in a class with Susan, using her book Serendipity Quilts, from her blog posts, from the Fabric Collage Master Class Manual, or other.
Please provide a few lines telling about the quilt. Its inspiration. Thoughts on the fabric collage process. Or anything you feel like talking about.

Click "Submit" when you have completed the form.

2. Instructions for Emailing Images of Your Quilt

Please provide the best possible quality images of your quilt.

  1. Make sure your quilt is well lit. Photographing outside on cloudy day gives an overall diffused light, eliminating "hot-spots" and shadows.
  2. Make sure your quilt is square in the frame of the camera. If possible, pin your quilt on a wall so that the center of the quilt is at eye height. Or have someone hold it up for you. Hold your camera/phone so that it is square to your quilt. Tilting your camera/phone up/down or left/right will result in a quilt shaped like a trapezoid instead of a rectangle.
  3. Take a few detail shots at different distances from your quilt, focusing on the highlights of your quilt. Show off the use of fabrics or the quilting.

For more guidance on taking good pictures of your quilts, please review this blog post: "Take a Flattering Picture of Your Quilt with the Camera in Your Pocket".

If possible, please provide the following images:

  1. An overall of the finished quilt
  2. Details of the finished quilt
  3. In-progress shots

Each image should be at least 750 Kb but no more than 2 Mb in size.
Most email programs allow you to adjust the size of the attachment you are sending. For example, on an iPhone when you press "Send" the phone will give you a range of sizes—small to actual size—in which to send your image. Medium or large.

If you intend to send several photos, you may need to use more than one email message to send all your images. Limit yourself to four or five photos per email.

We will not be able to use your images if they are too small. If you have any questions about whether your images are big enough please ask before sending your images.

In the subject of your email, please include YOUR NAME and "FINISH LINE."
