This Saturday in your regular weekly post, I’ll unveil my (finally) finished quilt, “Earthshine.” The piece is a portrait of my son as a crescent moon, the third portrait (one each decade) of Sam (see “Samuelsaurus Rex” and “Peace, Love, Tie-Dye, Save the Whales”).

The road to the end of this fabric collage quilt was a long and winding one. I recorded my progress in a series of posts, the subject of this week’s TBT. What was intended to be a Part 1-5 series, had some detours, part 3.5 and 3.75 for example, as I made good progress down roads I hadn’t foreseen, and sometimes leading me to dead ends from which I had to reverse!

Take the journey of “Earthshine” with me by perusing these posts leading up to the grand unveiling this Saturday.
