What do a cute little girl, a berry-eating bear, and a 1956 John Deere tractor have in common? You guessed it! All are fabric collages begun in one of my classes, finished up and quilted by their makers, and then submitted and accepted into a past AQS American Quilter’s Society show!

In today’s throwback Thursday post, we revisit three Finish Line posts that each include one of these three quilts by either Ellen Parrot (detail above), Joanne Hannon Shaw, or Tammy Gritters. To learn more about each quilt please click on the link following each of the artist’s names.

Tom and I are well aware that there may be other past Finish Line quilts that fall into an AQS show category, so if we missed yours, please enlighten us or make a brand new submission to be included in a future Finish Line post. Thank you!

Submit Quilt for "Finish Line"

The grand celebration of fabric that was AQS Quiltweek-Paducah 2022 is a memory now. In total I had 13 quilts in the show—”Monarch Maia” was accepted into the Small Quilt Pictorial show category, plus the 12 quilts in my “Specimens” exhibit, which included “Crocodylus Smylus.”

I returned home (a day late) a bit breathless from the 4-days of walking, talking, giving a lecture, meeting with followers, visiting with friends and colleagues. This Saturday I’ll share my reflections on the event, but for now, please admire the following three quilts (and all the rest!) found in the links below.

Thanks to everyone who dropped by my Specimens exhibit and took the time to say hello.
