Here I am in Paducah, Kentucky at AQS Quiltweek for all the festivities but most especially to display my “Specimens” quilts.

This will be a quick post to share with you some of the sights (and sounds) of this fabulous quilt show. There’s a good chance I’ll return to this subject again once I’m home and have time to reflect on the experience.

But for now I am soaking up the atmosphere and reconnecting with friends and colleagues, such as Sheila Frampton Cooper (left) and Nancy Blake (both in photo above).

In case you missed it, here’s a link to Thursday’s post for some earlier photos of the show.

Friends and Fans of Stevie

“Crocodylus Smylus”, AKA Stevie, is the centerpiece for my exhibit. Her size is of course a draw and it seems to bring out a playfulness in viewers as well, as these photos attest.

Enthusiastic long-time Patreon patron, Yvette Ayers introduced herself. She could be my assistant with all she knows about the quilts and the fabric collage process.
Tickling Stevie’s chinny-chin-chin.
And a smooch.

At the National Quilt Museum

I took a quick break on day two to attend a lecture by friend and colleague Sheila Frampton Cooper at the National Quilt Museum. The quilts below and others are on display at the museum. Love her use of color which is so different from my own. I also think she is one terrific lady.

A TikTok Star is Born!

A quilt fan who goes by the TikTok name of @booozyquilter did a short interview allowing me to promote my website especially the Spiral eWorkshop. She also did a walkthrough of the entire display. Thanks, boozyquilter!

And Thanks to Nancy

I can’t end this post without showing off the lovely bag that Nancy Blake made me. She used a vinyl print that I had made of my quilt “Beetle Arabesque” to construct the bag.
