One of the advantages of the way I do fabric collage, I believe, is it’s ability to create very fine details. There are a few different techniques for achieving those details, which this week’s Throwback Thursday demonstrates. Need to create a wrinkle under an eye? Or create a fine line between two shapes? Got you covered.

In your Saturday post, I’ll tackle a related topic, Sequence. Where you start, and the order in which you proceed on your fabric collage quilt can make a huge difference in the progress and outcome of your quilt. That post will be the first in a short series. It covers the relatively unique examples of a butterfly wing or a turtle shell, which involve creating panes or plates of color with contrasting lines between. I will include a video excerpt of my soon-to-be-launched eWorkshop, Susan Carlson Fabric Collage: Sea Turtle.
