Next spring I will be returning to magical Santa Fe to teach fabric collage. The class, hosted by MISA—Madeline Island School of the Arts, will run from March 23-27. I don’t know if you live in a cold weather state like I do, but by the time this class rolls around I’ll be ready for (relatively) warmer temperatures and the warm earthy colors of adobe with aqua and other colorful accents.
This 5-day class is open for all levels—beginners to advanced. Create a fabric collage from an image using your own photo (or other design) as inspiration. I give daily presentations introducing a different aspect of the quilt collage approach, using my own quilts as examples. Fabric selection and how it relates to the subject matter, construction, backgrounds, quilting and finishing for display will be discussed.
