First of all, Happy Thanksgiving to my U.S. readers! However you spend the day (or weekend), I hope it’s filled with favorite things—people, food, family games, maybe even outdoor activities like a walk with the dog(s). And if you’re out and about traveling, be safe and sane and maybe treat yourself to a nice relaxing soak in the tub when you get home. I assume that most of my readers can consider themselves a major caregiver of their family, so remember to take care of yourself as well.

Tom and I enjoy taking care of our families by cooking good food, so we tend to be in charge of the main elements of a holiday menu—including desserts such as Tom’s (a.k.a. the Pie Meister) much anticipated pies—an apple version is pictured above, plus you can see a corner of the vegan GF pumpkin and pecan torte he made for me! The Thanksgiving menu is one of the things we’ve been thinking of for a couple weeks now (among other things), so it’s no wonder that the seven year anniversary of our blog totally passed us by. It happened earlier in November.

That’s seven years of posts without missing a week! We’ve strived to provide useful information on the technique of fabric collage in one form or another—through my own work, or through classroom “tours” of classes I’ve taught, and through the hundreds of “Finish Line” quilts—collages submitted by students and followers.

Here are some seven-year statistical highlights for susancarlson.com.

While English-speaking countries—United States, Canada, Great Britain, and Australia—together account for the vast majority of visits and views, it fascinates me how far our fabric collage posts have traveled around the world. It makes me want to stick map tacks in our world map poster! It’s so cool to know that folks in Zimbabwe and Singapore and Thailand, among so many other far-flung locations, are counted among our readers. A big thanks to all of you for showing up for us.

Several times on past anniversaries we have shared the most popular posts of the year. Below is a list for the past year. So if you need to take a mental break during the next few days, brew a cuppa and find a quiet spot, then click on any (or all) titles for a short (or long) respite into the world of fabric collage. Enjoy.
