This week’s TBT is a favorite post of mine, even though I didn’t write it. It was a guest post by my significant other and partner, Tom. He has been with me for my entire fabric collage journey, encouraging me, asking me questions that helped define my technique and style, and mostly just sharing my successes (and occasional flops).
We don’t all receive such encouragement in our artistic endeavors. Too often, an unkind, thoughtless, or even well-intentioned criticism withers our interest in an art form before it has time to blossom.
When this post ran originally, it received more comments than any previous post, with people sharing their experience of giving up on art and how they found their way back. So be sure to read those comments as well, and to share any of your own stories.
This Saturday, in your regular post, I’ll share a new batch of Finish Line quilts. It takes courage to share your work, and that ought to inspire us all.
