When I compare this summer to last summer, I’m grateful how fortunate my family and I have been during this pandemic. Despite the changes we’ve all endured, the two summers still have a lot in common. I stick close to home during the months of July and August anyway, so the cancellation of this year’s teaching didn’t change any summer travel plans. My son is a year out of college so we don’t have the concern of whether or how returning to school will happen.

In fact, here in Maine, we tend to lay low in the summertime anyway, concentrating on enjoying the warm weather while we have it.

In this Throwback Thursday, you’ll see how I spent last summer. I was finishing up my quilt Monarch Maia; tending my garden; and finding the caterpillars, feeding, and then hatching monarch butterflies. Tom went out paddling his kayak whenever he could.

This Saturday, we’ll ease back into the weekly blog posts by showing you how we’ve spent this summer. I have new quilts to talk about, more butterflies, and Tom has a couple paddling videos of his local adventures to show off.

And of course, we’ll talk about the major overhaul we’ve just completed on the Fabric Collage Online Master Class Manual.
