My exhibit of over thirty of my fabric collage quilts has been showing for the last three months at the New England Quilt Museum. What a wonderful opportunity it has been. But all good things—like years—must end. This Sunday is the last day of the show. I have to thank NEQM curator Pam Weeks for all her hard work and of course the staff and docents of the museum.
If you intended to visit but haven’t yet, don’t delay any longer. I don’t know if these quilts will ever be gathered together again, as some of them have been borrowed back from their owners. To read about the show and to preview some of the quilts, read today’s Throwback Thursday below.
Opening Reception for Susan Carlson’s Fabric Collage Quilts at NEQM
At a show earlier in the year, Maine Quilts, I was interviewed by Amy Milne at Quilt Alliance (thanks to Callie Lavoie of Maine Quilts for setting it up). I was asked to talk about my Quilt “Crocodylus Smylus” for their video series, “Go Tell It at the Quilt Show.” I thought I would include that here as well.

It was a wonderful to be able to see the quilts up close, and as I volunteer at NEQM I got even closer. It is a very good reason to give your time to help the great people at the museum .
So glad I saw this. My husband and I are dropping everything and heading for Lowell tomorrow! We live in PA and this is probably the closest I will get to seeing your quilts! I am sooo excited! You wouldn’t happen to be at the museum this weekend, would you?

I just found my copy of Serendipity Quilts. Maybe a goal for 2019, to make one piece of art from the book. Thank you for the videos. It was like having a private art show in my living room.
