In many parts of the world and a few parts of the US, Mardi Gras celebrations and parades were in full force the last few days—and here in this Throwback Thursday post, a colorful display of collage art is ready to march along to dazzle your eyes and lift your spirits—including Sally Gould Wright’s, “Green Man,” above—a symbol of hope and celebration in the dark of a winter season.

Tom and I are quite enjoying our little trips down Memory Lane as we check out Finish Line posts from years ago. Today’s collection comes from December 2016, a little over a year after we first began my blog. The early days of the Finish Line posts were extra special because it was the first time I had the chance to regularly see finished versions of the quilts begun in my classes. Occasionally, a student would email me a photo of their finished quilt, but it was few and far between. Once we put out the call for submissions of finished collage quilts, they started rolling in. Thank you to the many hundreds of you who have shared your art with us and brightened the pages of these Finish Line posts.

Click on any of the images below to see them larger and to scroll through the preview gallery. The Finish Line: Completed Student Work Vol. 3 post link follows below.

Do you have a finished fabric collage quilt to share in a future Finish Line post? Click on submission button below—and thank you!
