One week from today, on February 6th, we start our new Fantastical Fabric Collage Fish Zoom Follow-Along. This is the latest installment in our series of four-week online classes that allow students to follow along—live with Q&A—each Thursday evening as I create a new fabric collage quilt.
The fish I’ll be collaging this year will be a “Blue Goldie“—though Vickie Soderman’s, “Frannie the Fantastical Trophy Fish” (above), was based on my other goldfish pattern “Carpe Carpem.” Participants in the class can choose either or any one of my fish patterns, or draw their own design to work from.
Today’s Throwback Thursday revisits last year’s fish class and the wonderfully fantastical quilts that were made by my students—thank you for sharing! The variety, color, and creativity displayed in these quilts is amazing to me.
Do you have a Fantastical Fish to share in a future Fishy Finish Line post? Click on submission button below—and thank you.

If you’re inspired by these students’ quilts, sign up soon to take part in February’s Fish 2025—beginning next Thursday the 6th! Remember, even if you can’t attend all the sessions, each will be recorded for viewing at any time, even long after the class has ended. Also included is a supply list and a free fish (of your choice) pattern. More info following below.
Hope to see you there!
