Some of you may know that my collection of quilts entitled “Specimens” had its premier at the International Quilt Festival-Houston in 2016—the subject of today’s Throwback Thursday post. Since then, quilts in the collection have appeared in various places, including the New England Quilt Museum, at AQS Quilt Week in Paducah, at AQC in Melbourne, Australia, and most recently in the European exhibit Power of Pattern by Kaffe Fassett, alongside other textile artworks by international artists.
This summer and fall the Specimens gang of quilts will be getting back together at the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, Kentucky. This Saturday in your regular post I’ll reveal more details about the show and the three-day class I’ll be teaching (which, sorry to report, is already full). I’ll be including a couple of my newer quilts in the show so be sure to check out the Saturday post to see which quilts have made the cut!
