Over the next two Saturdays in your regular posts, I’ll be revisiting my latest Live Online class, a portraits-only class held at the end of June. This brought to mind a post from a few years ago where I talked about two early self-portrait collages I had made.
I was also reminded of the self-portraits in this post when I visited the New England Quilt Museum in Lowell, MA, this past Sunday to drop off my quilt “Winfrieda”, the lace polar bear, to be included in their Animalia:
the Animal Kingdom in Quilts and Textiles exhibit that opened this past Tuesday—on view September 12 through December 30, 2023. Previously, in 2018, I had a retrospective of my work on display at NEQM, which included these same self-portraits, in Throwback post below.
In a few weeks, “Winfrieda” will be the subject of a third post about her making, so tune in for more of her story then.
