When is my fabric collage quilt done? I’m often asked this.
Only you know when collage quilt is done, of course, though you may want to follow my half-tongue-in-cheek maxim of “More is better!”
This week’s Throwback Thursday helps you decide whether it’s time to hang up your scissors for the piece you’re working on. Specifically, when can you stop collaging and finish the dang thing already! I’ve provided 7 questions you can ask yourself to help make that all-important decision.
- Have you asked someone you trust for their opinion?
- Have you created and completed a punch list?
- Are you excited to get working on a new collage?
- Have you added bits of the favorite fabrics you picked out before you started?
- Have you learned all you can from working on this particular piece?
- Is done better than perfect?
- Have you reached the final draft stage?
This Saturday, in your new post, I’ll go back to the other end of making a quilt. I’ll talk about beginning a new quilt and the obstacles we all face to cutting the first piece of fabric that marks the start of a new fabric collage adventure.
