Happy Thanksgiving to all my readers in the U.S.—I hope everyone has a safe celebration with as many friends and family as possible.
Last week we blew by the anniversary of this blog! How did we miss that? Maybe because I was just returning from teaching for two weeks and I was playing catch-up in oh-so-many ways.
At any rate, the blog is now officially six years old, having first posted on November 15, 2015. Mere weeks before that, in September 2015, I was teaching for the first time at Woodland Ridge Retreat in Downsville, Wisconsin. And that’s where I just happened to have returned from!
Teaching at Woodland Ridge has become a yearly habit (disregarding last year’s cancellations). But because that first visit occurred pre-blog (so no post to send you back to this week), I’ll instead offer the post from my second visit to Downsville, in 2017. Ellen Parrot was one of the attendees of that class, and began a portrait of “the little girl next door to her” (see photo above). The finished version of Ellen’s quilt appears in this Finish Line post.
This Saturday, in your regular post, I’ll feature my most recent trip to Woodland Ridge, another full five days of fantastic fabric collage.
