When you memorialize a pet in fabric collage, it feels like a part of them stays with you long after they have departed. For me, a warm and tactile part of Pippin lives on in her portrait quilt “Dixie Dingo Dreaming,” which alternates hanging either in my house or in my studio. Read all about my girl and her portrait in this week’s Throwback Thursday.
This week I have been reminded of Pippin another way as I used her image and specifically her nose as a morning demonstration in my Live Online Class. So far I have created four noses in four different sets of fabrics, one for each Live Online Class I have taught this year.
This Saturday in your regular post, you’ll see those noses and some of the fabrics I’ve used to create them. In that post I’ll tell you about a couple great places to find the sort of fabrics—colors and prints—that I find most useful in the creation of a fabric collage.
