Students ask: When is my fabric collage quilt finished? After all, you can just keep on going, adding layer, after layer….
Some may expect a simple answer, others probably anticipate me shrugging and saying: “It depends.”
While I don’t have any hard and fast rules for when a collage is ready to quilt, I have developed some guidelines. You can read about them in today’s Throwback Thursday. I’m applying those guidelines myself as I finish up the final draft of “Earthshine,” the quilt of my son Sam as a crescent moon. Read about how I’ve decided whether or not I’m done (with the piecing anyway), in this Saturday’s regular post.
