Showing and writing about my fabric collage quilts while they’re still in progress is something I have done from the very beginning of the blog almost six years ago. My first three blog posts ever, in fact, chronicled the making of my quilt “Crocodylus Smylus”—beginning my blogging life with where I was at the time, having just completed this 20 foot specimen.

Over the years of writing this blog, my work-in-progress posts have turned out to be a great way to teach fabric collage. I can show the steps (and the missteps!) and demonstrate technique in an indirect but effective way. So this week’s TBT will be the post that gathers all the links to “Crocodylus Smylus” in one handy place. Not only are there in-progress posts, but there are also posts on the various places Stevie (as I call her) has visited.

In your regular Saturday post, the tradition of showing my in-progress work continues with another in the “Earthshine” (formerly known as “Blue Moon Sam”) series. This portrait quilt of my son Sam as a crescent moon is progressing in it’s many shining layers.
