This week I return to live in-person teaching for the first time in almost 18 months. As this posts, I’ll be in day four of a five day class for MISA, the Madeline Island School of the Arts. I will have traveled by car, plane, car again, ferry, and finally car once more to arrive at their campus in Lake Superior. It’s haul to get there!

But once you’ve arrived it is a unique and exceptional place to slow down and concentrate on just one thing at a time. Like learning fabric collage. Or writing. Or photography. The distance from the outside world allows a different pace of life. You sense it when you step off the ferry.

Check out what it’s like in this week’s TBT, with a post I wrote after my visit in September 2018. A week from this Saturday, I’ll present a post based on this year’s visit.
