My “On the Road Teaching” series of blog posts, where I feature my teaching adventures around the world, is of course on hiatus. I haven’t traveled since last November. A little over a year ago I was in Nevada teaching at Art Quilt Tahoe—was it only a year ago? The photo above is me with my students of 2019. Notice how close we’re gathered, no face masks, you can see our smiles. Seems strange these days, doesn’t it?
Yes, we live in a different world right now, but at least there’s is a light at the end of the tunnel. I just read today that maybe, just maybe, some normalcy in moving around through life could be back by the end of next summer. So with patience and fingers crossed, we’ll get there. We’re all in this together, right?
In the meantime, online webinars have replaced my traveling this year—unplanned but quite rewarding as well. Please join me on December 10 and 17 for the last two Thursday Night in My Studio Live! presentations of 2020. See the links below to register. And if you’ve been following along with this year’s Thursday Nights so far, don’t forget to send in your Thursday Night-inspired quilts to share in our free, end-of-year wrap up! It doesn’t have to be finished, in progress quilts are fine.
Looking back at the following post, and the rest of my teaching posts as well, makes me grateful for smiles, the friendships I’ve made through the years, and the experiences I’ve had. Art Quilt Tahoe is held on the beautiful shores of Lake Tahoe, and spending time with my colleagues and students brought me much pleasure as you will see in this Throwback Thursday post.
