As any of you who have followed me for a while know, I travel all over the country and internationally to teach fabric collage. I chronicle these travels in my On the Road series of blog posts. Of course my current classes and travel have been cancelled at least until this fall. In an attempt to inject a semblance of normalcy into an insane world, today’s TBT is an On the Road post from the same area of the country where I would have been just now returning from, had the world not slipped off its tracks.

If all had gone to plan this year, you’d have been reading about my April trip to teach for Luana Rubin at eQuilter.com in Boulder, Colorado. Instead, this On the Road Throwback is from Lyons, Colorado where I lectured and taught in April 2016. That’s me, above, with Linda Blue, who was a student in that fish-themed class.

This Saturday in your regular post, I’ll present a fresh batch of competed fabric collage quilts in a new Finish Line post. If you have a completed quilt you’d like to submit for publication, please use the link below. Of course, we’re looking forward to seeing finished quilts from the new Sea Turtle eWorkshop or Spiral eWorkshop—we know there’s quite a few of you out there keeping creatively busy with them!

Don’t forget! Thursday Night in My Studio Live! presentations return on May 7. My preliminary plans for that presentation (I may change my mind!) is to show what I’ve been working on lately, then provide a simple project for my viewers based on what I’ve been doing. To register, use the button below.

For an up-to-date listing of current and past presentations, visit the front page of this website and scroll down to the Thursday Night in My Studio Live! section.

    • Not immediately. However, in my upcoming Thursday Night in My Studio Live session I will be talking about faces, freeform, intuitive, fun faces, rather than portraits. If you go to my home page, http://www.susancarlson.com, you can find a link to register for that.

  • Hi
Am working on the spiral and finished the 1st spiral
Do I glue the pieces now. Or work the 2nd spiral and glue at the same time
    Am I having fun?
It’s a little more stressful than I thought, good practice for the next project
    Thanks
    Brenda Schulman
