I had a couple of choices for this Throwback Thursday: either “Choosing Fabrics for Fabric Collage” or my eventual choice below. While the “Running with Pelicans” post is primarily inspired by someone asking me how I use the “pelican-bladed” appliqué scissors I prefer, I do demonstrate an essential skill: finding (or recognizing) and cutting out patterns from fabric.

I will be demonstrating this skill this week in my first ever “Thursday Night from My Studio Live” (click the link to read more about this series of four presentations). I’ll kick off the webinar with a short slideshow featuring my quilt “Dixie Dingo Dreaming.” For those of you who aren’t able to view the webinar, on Saturday, in your regular weekly post, I’ll update the Quilt Story of “Dixie Dingo Dreaming” with a video of the slideshow for all to see.

For an up-to-date listing of current and past presentations, visit the front page of this website and scroll down to the Thursday Night in My Studio Live! section.

  • Good morning Susan, I was one of the participants in your Thursday night in my studio.
I want to say thank you for creating the group. I was very pleased with the opportunity last evening. I immediately signed up for the remaining three sessions. At this very strange time it is great to be connected with other people in the quilt community.
I loved seeing your cat’s cameo appearance near the first of the session.

    • Hi Marilyn, you’re Down East from us, not just down the road! Thanks for joining last night! I guess I was otherwise occupied when Djinni wandered through. We did expect her to join in at some point though. Thanks for the support and see you next week! take care——Susan
