Two years ago this week, I launched the Fabric Collage Online Master Class Manual—a multi-media resource guide to the process of fabric collage. This week’s TBT looks back at that launch of the Master Class Manual. Tom and I learned a lot from that experience, which was both fun and nerve wracking.
In this Saturday’s post, I’ll reflect on the Susan Carlson Fabric Collage: Sea Turtle eWorkshop, which launches a week from Saturday, on March 21. This is to be the first addition in what will be a series of fabric collage project oriented online step-by-step workshops.
The process of creating each online class was entirely different, as you’ll see when you compare today’s TBT to Saturday’s post. One huge difference was the time frame. The Master Class Manual was written over two years, collating and expanding on blog posts I wrote during that time. We (Tom and I) created The Sea Turtle eWorkshop over the course of three months with entirely new and detailed instructions and demonstrations in the creation of the one quilt.
We found we were able to build on our technical experience with the Master Class Manual, and what started out with a simple idea, took on a life of its own. We think this new Sea Turtle eWorkshop is the best work we’ve done. We hope you do, too.
