Sunset from the Harpswell Inn at Lookout Point

The June and October Harpswell Quilt Retreats (June 24-28 and Sept. 30-Oct. 4) are suitable for anyone, beginners to advanced, with open subject matter. I work with each student at the level they’re at.

If you haven’t taken a class with me before or if you need a refresher, this class is for you, though any level may sign up. I start each morning with about an hour-long demonstration that will lay out the basics of fabric collage and will give you the information you need to start your work day. I will then visit each student in turn to address individual needs and your project’s unique challenges.

Retreat fee includes onsite lunches as well as one group dinner. Lodging and additional meals are extra.

Lodging arranged separately by student. For information about the Harpswell Inn go to harpswellinn.com. Extended stays can be requested. Breakfast included with lodging at Harpswell Inn.

Waitlist
Last year, all my classes filled in less than half an hour. Some people were disappointed that they didn’t get in. I considered using a lottery-based system for signing up for the classes in order to relieve the “gold rush” atmosphere, but decided there were too many logistical problems for that.

If you find the class you wanted is full, you will be able to sign up on a waitlist. Last year I exhausted most of my waitlists filling cancellations, so if you add your name there’s a good chance you’ll be contacted. There is no fee or deposit to add your name to the waitlist.

  • Hi Susan
I registered for the June 2019 class but haven’t rec’d a confirmation yet so I hope it all went through. I used my CC card rather than PayPal and saw a note “cancel payment if you want to
Use PayPal” so I’ve got my fingers crossed. I’d prefer the Oct class but no tickets were available. Can I be on the waitlist??? Thanks

    • Gayle, We don’t have you as registered for the June class. To sign up for the October waitlist, use the same link as registration. There will be a gray button. Use that.

  • So disappointed. Got my email at 12:05… and all tickets spoke for… I do not see a way to be put on a waiting list.

  • I am registered for your class. I cannot get reservations to Harpswell Inn. Can you recommend a place to stay nearby ? I am not familiar with the area and would like to be close so I will not have a long commute. Thank you! Looking forward to the class!

    • Why aren’t you able to get reservations for the inn? We have it reserved for that week. Please leave a message with them if you’re having trouble with online purchase. They will return your call or email.

  • I found the Paypal interface hard to use. It did not let me sign into my existing Paypal account, and finding the right box to uncheck to let me pay directly by credit card was difficult – it was in small type at the bottom of the Paypal form. Bottom line, I started the registration process at 12:01, and was not able to successfully complete it until 12:13 pm. argh. Fingers crossed I finished in time! All the best!

    • Sorry the experience was frustrating. Paypal is the most common way to accept online payments. We have to choose something to use. The good news is that you got into the October class.

  • I waitlisted the Fall class but what I really want is the June class. Just says all tickets are being purchased, please try again – no gray button. hmmmmmmm

    • Lizzie, try reloading your browser. On my computer its working and there’s actually one ticket left. Once that’s gone the waitlist link will appear.

  • How long is the average wait to get into a class? A couple of years or so?? I so hope I can get in soon.
