Sunset from the Harpswell Inn at Lookout Point

Registration for Harpswell, Maine, All-Levels Retreats begins January 5, 2019, 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time

The June and October Harpswell Retreats (June 24-28 and Sept. 30-Oct. 4) are suitable for anyone, beginners to advanced, with open subject matter. I work with each student at the level they’re at.

If you haven’t taken a class with me before or if you need a refresher, this class is for you, though any level may sign up. I start each morning with about an hour-long demonstration that will lay out the basics of fabric collage and will give you the information you need to start your work day. I will then visit each student in turn to address individual needs and your project’s unique challenges.

Retreat fee includes onsite lunches as well as one group dinner.

Lodging arranged separately by student. For information about the Harpswell Inn go to harpswellinn.com. Extended stays can be requested. Lodging and additional meals are extra. Breakfast included with lodging at Harpswell Inn.

Sunrise in Portland, Maine

The Advanced Students Retreat in Portland (October 21-25) is for those who have taken two 4- or 5-day classes with me previously. In the advanced classes I skip the morning presentations explaining the steps and techniques of fabric collage and jump right into helping students with their on-going or next projects. Skipping the introductory fabric collage demonstrations allows us to focus instead on techniques that can take a project beyond the basics. If you have taken two or more classes with me previously you probably qualify.

Retreat fee includes onsite lunches as well as one group dinner.

Lodging and additional meals are extra. Sharing of rooms can be requested. Lodging at the Hyatt includes breakfast if you are a World of Hyatt member.

Special Price Lodging at Hyatt Place Portland-Old Port: $159/night, Sunday-Friday nights. Discount code will be sent with request for payment of balance.

Registration for Harpswell, Maine, All-Levels Retreats

Registration for Harpswell, Maine, All-Levels Retreats begins January 5, 2019, 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time

At noon on January 5, I will send a blog post with links to register for either of these classes. In order to register you will need a credit card to pay a non-refundable $200 deposit to hold your space. I will contact registrants in either March or June (3 months prior to each retreat) with a request for payment of the balance.

Waitlist
Last year, all my classes filled in less than half an hour. Some people were disappointed that they didn’t get in. I considered using a lottery-based system for signing up for the classes in order to relieve the “gold rush” atmosphere, but decided there were too many logistical problems for that.

If you find the class you wanted is full, you will be able to sign up on a waitlist. Last year I exhausted most of my waitlists filling cancellations, so if you add your name there’s a good chance you’ll be contacted.

Expressions of Interest for Portland, Maine, Advanced Student Retreat

Using the form below please express your interest in attending the Advanced Student Retreat. You will have until December 31, 2018 to make your Expression of Interest. I will contact the 12 students shortly thereafter to request the payment of a deposit to hold their spots in class. I will also notify the remainder of those interested in the class, who will be kept on a waitlist unless otherwise indicated.

I request that you indicate your experience in fabric collage in order to assess whether you qualify to attend. Generally, if you have taken 2 or more classes with me previously, you probably qualify. Those who have taken the advanced class before will be given priority.
