In this Saturday’s regular blog post I’ll talk about my upcoming show at the New England Quilt Museum (NEQM). What better way to warm up for that than revisiting a show I participated in at the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts and Fiber Arts?

The big difference between the two of course is that I merely participated in the Wisconsin show, contributing two quilts to the more than 100 pieces. The NEQM is a solo show, which you’ll learn more about in a couple days.

Let me take a moment to give a plug to quilt museums across the country. They do important work: promoting, educating the public about, and preserving these important cultural and aesthetic creations. This work is especially important to women, since quilting was “women’s work.” If quilts aren’t preserved we will lose a window into the productivity and creativity of mothers and daughters through the centuries.
