This week’s Throwback Thursday is a post featuring my friend Marilyn Davidson who is an artist and student. Actually it features both her quilts and her husband Joel’s photography. She uses his work as inspiration for her own, recreating in fabric collage some of his most memorable shots from around the world. But their artistic relationship is a two way street, each giving input and advice to the other.
I chose this post to highlight because for this week’s regular Saturday morning post Marilyn’s work will make another appearance. Marilyn is a prolific artist, with long experience in a variety of media, from painting, to crewel work, to pottery, and even decorative food. Her journey to fabric collage via these other media is an interesting one and one I think you’ll find uplifting, so be sure to check your email Saturday morning!
