It’s time. Registration is now open for my 2018 Maine Quilt Retreats. I hope if you plan to attend that you’ve made your choice by now of which date (or dates) you prefer. If not, you should know a few things before choosing:
There Are Two Venues
The first venue is the Hyatt Place Portland-Old Port in Maine’s largest city. The advantage to this venue is its proximity to the Portland airport and the bustling but quaint city waterfront. No need to rent a car to get here (the Hyatt has a complimentary shuttle), and once you are checked into your room you are mere steps away from shops, restaurants, and other attractions. The classes held at the Hyatt are a full five days in length.
The other venue is the iconic Maine bed and breakfast, the Harpswell Inn, here in my hometown of Harpswell, Maine. The inn is off the beaten path. A short walk down the hill takes you to one of the most stunning views in the state. The main (get it?) advantage of this venue is that a visit to my studio is included in the schedule. The other difference between this and the Portland venue is price and length. The Harpswell Inn classes are four days and the price reflects that.
There Are Two Levels
Please be sure to sign up for the level of class that suits your experience. Only one class, on October 15-19 in Portland, is for advanced students, the rest are for all levels. To be “advanced” you must have previously taken at least two of my all levels classes.
Registration and Cancellation
Finally, let me forewarn you that a $100 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a seat in class. You will need a credit card to make this deposit. If you need to cancel, a penalty, scaled to increase the closer to the class you cancel, will be applied to your refund. If you have any other questions about how to sign up, visit last week’s post “Susan Carlson 2018 Maine Quilt Retreats: How to Sign Up”, which describes the process in detail.
Good luck! I hope to see you in class!
–Susan

I thought that I could purchase 2 tickets for myself and a friend, but the options are only 0 and 1. I don’t want to buy without being able to do 2. Please let me know.
I believe that means that when you checked there was only one ticket left. I can’t believe how quickly the classes sold out.
It’s not letting me buy a ticket for Oct 22. Off computer or phone.
I’m afraid it must have already been sold out. That class was especially popular and sold out within minutes. Please add yourself to the waitlist if you can.
I’m in the Oct. 26-20, 2017 class…..lucky me! I sent a photo of my subject matter for pre-approval but have not heard back. Should I assume it is okay?
All good, Martha. Just a little behind on the emails. Getting to you today….
