Five years ago!? It really was five years ago that I had a “retrospective” show of my fabric collage works (and posed with students of mine, above) at the New England Quilt Museum (NEQM), in Lowell, Massachusetts. Spanning over three decades, this show featured some of my very earliest quilts. It included some of my most recognizable, like “Tickled Pink” and “Crocodylus Smylus.” Today’s Throwback Thursday calls back to the exhibit opening, giving you a flavor of what the event was like.

Currently, my lace polar bear, “Winfrieda,” is on display at NEQM in the exhibit Animalia, where visitors are able to stand next to all eight-feet of her to have their pictures taken. Don’t forget that you can get a FREE inside look at the making of “Winfrieda” next week during a live Fly on the Wall: Susan Carlson Studio Watch, via Zoom. I’ll be hosting a slide presentation concentrating on her final draft and finishing touches. Again, this is a free event so use the link below to sign up. Hope to see you there!
