Since I won’t be traveling to teach fabric collage anytime soon, I figured we could do a little armchair traveling by revisiting a past class. I had been scheduled to teach for two weeks in June at the Madeline Island School of the Arts on the lovely island in the south-west of Lake Superior among the Apostle Islands, Wisconsin.

Well, COVID-19 happened. So this week’s TBT goes back to September 2018, when I first visited that part of the country and spent a week teaching at MISA. Though it takes a while to get there—car, bus, planes, car, ferry, car—it was a very beautiful and comfortable place to teach. The students did a great job, as always (that’s them in photo above). In the blog post below, check out the progress they made in just five days.

I hope you are safe and sound and not going crazy sheltering in place. I invite you to travel to Madeline Island with me (there’s a lot of photos in this one), so you may want a cuppa in hand. May the online visit help to ease your day.
