This Saturday’s regular weekly post will feature my first 2019 session at Empty Spools Seminars. To prep you for that post, this Throwback Thursday provides links to all my past Empty Spools blog posts.
Operating since 1986, Empty Spools is near the top of many quilters’ bucket lists. This quilt retreat held at Asilomar Conference Grounds in Pacific Grove, California, has long had the reputation of being a top-notch quilting retreat. For each of its five annual sessions, it features ten to twelve internationally recognized quilting teachers, some of whom like myself teach more than one session. In 2020 they will host over 40 different teachers presenting classes on a wide variety of quilting techniques.
I have taught there every year since 2009. Since 2012 at least, I’ve taught two back-to-back sessions each year. That’s a lot of students over the years and a lot of fabric collage projects. Had I known all that, I’d have kept better records of those early classes. Now, as you’ll see on Saturday, I routinely photograph each quilt, do a class photo, take classroom shots, and include some sightseeing photos as well. The blog posts linked below, cover the years 2016-2018 (the years my blog has been in existence).
Fabric Collage Master Class
For instructions on the entire fabric collage process, you can purchase the Susan Carlson Fabric Collage Online Master Class Manual. Using video, photos, and text I take you from soup to nuts, beginning to end in creating your own fabric collage masterpiece.
