Golden Temple of the Good Girls
2015, 50 x 58 inches
Another celebration of pets, this time with a light-hearted view of them as idols in their own shrines. If I could, I'd provide a home for every homeless and abused animal out there—domestic or wild. As it is, I manage three or four (domestic versions) at a time. At the making of this quilt, we had three pets, each a different species, so naturally each needed their own space. And each needed to be surrounded by a golden light, appropriate to the little princesses that they are. Though these are portraits of our pets, they've proved to have a universal appeal to others who understand how precious these unique members of our families are to all of us.
