Polka Dodo

Shortly after “Tickled Pink,” I listed all the animals I’d like to create in fabric. A dodo was at the top of the list. Everyone knows the story of the dodo, though I thought it unfair that its history is often seen as comment on the dodo’s intelligence rather than the tragedy that it was. With the composition and pose I tried to convey my dodo with a sense of good humor but also dignity. All the fabrics used in this piece are polka dot prints.
