Class Description

If you haven’t taken a class with me before or if you need a refresher, this class is for you, though any level may sign up. I start each morning with about an hour-long demonstration that will lay out the basics of fabric collage and will give you the information you need to start your work day. I will then visit each student in turn to address individual needs and your project’s unique challenges.

This retreat is hosted in Portland, Maine, the state’s largest city (though small by most “city” standards) and a mere free shuttle ride away from the Portland International Jetport. Hyatt Place Portland-Old Port is a modern hotel nestled in the heart of the city’s arts, food, and shopping district. It also offers panoramic views (from suites with balconies) of the working waterfront, Casco Bay and its islands. Special lodging prices apply. Portland classes are five days long.

All retreats are limited to a maximum enrollment of twelve to ensure each student receives ample attention. Retreat price includes on-site lunch, as well as one group dinner. The hotel serves breakfast as part of their overnight package, which requires separate booking. Lodging and additional meals are extra. Sharing of rooms can be accommodated.

Hope to see you there!

  • If it was Portland, Oregon I certainly would consider signing up as I live over here in British Columbia, Canada …. but Maine is a bit too far away for me. I sure hope sometime that you come “our West” and teach a class.
